CWS Richmond has provided resettlement services to refugees, asylees, parolees and SIV refugees since 1962. Originally, as a program of the Virginia Council of Churches, CWS Richmond transitioned in July 2012 to become a direct affiliate of Church World Service. As part of the CWS network, the Richmond office has access to a broad range of resources, training and support from CWS’s corporate center as well as its partner affiliates across the country.
Over the past three years, CWS Richmond has successfully welcomed hundreds of refugee arrivals into the Richmond area providing basic needs support, comprehensive case management services, health services, individualized employment preparedness and placement, and highly competent cultural and linguistic referral services.
CWS Richmond is proud to serve, support, and help our newly arriving clients begin a new life in America and escape the persecution, poverty, and hardships of living in fearful and difficult situations in countries thousands of miles away.
